Dear Bombay Hotel Reservations,

i'm interested in making reservations for a suite at ur hotel during the week of Dec. 20-27, but i'm afraid that my "condition" might pose some restrictions on my part in finding a suitable place to stay. i wanted to inform u in advance so u and ur staff would be able to address it in an adequate and appropriate manner. i am very impressed with ur brochure, which displayed many attractive features and guaranteed gold-starred top-quality service for all ur guests. upon reading this, i decided to give Bombay Hotel a try. u see, i'm an aging adult (not a cranky, old lady, by any means) and when u start to get old, u have certain "problems" (not personality ones, just wanted to clarify that and assure u). u see, my hair has a natural tendency of falling... shedding... becoming loosely detached... whatever u prefer to call it. and it's pretty much out of control... (believe me, i have try my darndest to keep the hair cuticles become united with my scalp... just isn't working very well, if at all...) very annoying and frustrating for myself, as i'm sure u understand. my primary concern is ur housecleaning department. it's already very embarrassing and stressful, i sincerely hope that ur cleaning staff will not make me feel any more uncomfortable about this as i already am. it's something i need to face and deal with every single day of my closer-and-closer-to-death life. my hair can be seen clinging anywhere and everywhere back home... on the kitchen counter, by the loveseat, all over my pillow, mingled with my cat (Purry), inside the grand piano, around the front doorknob, in the toilet bowl, caught on the chandelier, i even recall some dangling from the cathedral ceiling, though i have no idea how it got there. so, where was i? this old age thing is really clicking in... oh yes! as i was saying, my white hair (a very nice white shade, i have to admit) will be on every piece of furniture and in every part of the hotel room, basically in every place imaginable inside and outside ur hotel. well, u probably do not care much about the outside. my wish is not to immensely add to ur cleaning staff's workload, but please be understanding of my predicament. i know this affliction of mine is perhaps not too quite common, but i assure u that it is a situation that deserves ur full attention. please inform each and every one of ur staff members so that they will not be alarmed by wads of hair that might appear to them to be white wigs lying carelessly around, whether in the bathroom, in front of the television, by the phone, inside the fridge, under the bed, on the closet shelf, by the balcony, etc. it might require them to make a few more vacuum and polishing trips, but i hope that would not be too troublesome. i also like to travel with a beloved personal item which might seem odd to the average person, but is very near and dear to me as this was something i shared with my deceased husband. this item of such sentimental value is a fish head that Rich and i had purchased at Barnes & Barnes Wholesale Warehouse one fine Saturday afternoon over five decades ago, when i was still in my thirties. =) the fish head is light blue with a hint of magenta, has beady red eyes with a small number of scales still intact. he has gone through many ups and downs with Rich and i. we have been through so much and i take Calcutta, that's the fish head's name, everywhere with me. yes, even to the bathroom because i simply cannot lose sight of him. i would not be able to bear it if i find him amiss for i will be truly broken-hearted. do not worry as he (Calcutta) is no longer alive. he would not have bitten u even if he were. as for Rich, he was a marvelous gentleman. he was always willing to spend time with Calcutta. he was wonderful with him. those were the days... when the magic of Calcutta, Rich, and i filled the air. he (Calcutta) always made me feel special and brought a smile to my face whenever i felt down. having Rich around had a lot to do with our happiness as well. he (Rich) joined him and i together and us three formed a deep, special, unbreakable bond. my other two-thirds have left me, but their fond memories live on in my heart. it certainly helps that Calcutta is still with me physically, in a sense. i have learned to let Rich go. well, Calcutta, looks like it's just gonna be u and me for the time being, until heaven beckons me, eh? u don't have to wait too much longer, i'm sure. i'll be there soon enough. anyway, getting back to my initial and main concern, i am fully aware that Bombay Hotel has a fantastic reputation and i'm curious to know whether or not my needs will be met accordingly. so, please let me know whether accommodations are possible for the week of Dec. 20. thank u in advance for ur prompt reply as i need to make my reservations within the next short while. my deepest gratitude for ur effort in making my stay at Bombay Hotel wonderfully hospitable.

respectfully,
Lisa H. F. Tang
